The parents of Lori Piestewa, the Hopi woman killed in action in Iraq, welcomed their daughter's best friend and former roommate Jessica Lynch to Arizona on Monday.
Lynch is making her first visit to the state where Piestewa was born and raised. Lynch will attend ceremonies for Piestewa in Phoenix and visit the Hopi and Navajo reservations.
A public reception for Lynch and the Piestewa family takes place at 6:30pm at Central High School. Tomorrow, a sunrise ceremony will be held at Piestewa Peak followed by an evening vigil at Steele Indian School Park
On Thursday, Lynch will attend a public reception at Tuba City High School in Tuba City, Arizona, on the Navajo reservation.
