Blackfeet Nation seeks more hurricane workers

The Blackfeet Nation of Montana is seeking 200 more workers to help in post-hurricane efforts in the Gulf Coast.

The tribe has created a program to help applicants meet FEMA requirements for emergency work. The tribe has already sent more than 100 workers to the region and 136 more are on their way this week.

Demand for emergency and non-emergency jobs is high. In New Orleans, prospective employees are being offered high hourly wages and big signing bonuses, The New York Times reported.
