Two members of the Skull Valley Goshute Tribe of Utah pleaded guilty on Monday to stealing from the tribe while a third member was sentenced for the same crime.

Marlinda Moon, Sammy Blackbear and Mirada Wash were charged with taking money from the tribe's bank accounts in 2001. At the time, they believed they were the legitimate leaders of the tribe but the Bureau of Indian Affairs continued to recognize Leon Bear as chairman.

Moon and Wash pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft and will be sentenced on November 28. Blackbear, who already pleaded guilty, was sentenced to three years probation and ordered to pay $17,300 in restitution.

Moon, Wash and Blackbear are fighting Bear's efforts to store nuclear waste on the reservation. Bear has pleaded and was given three years probation for a federal tax fraud charge.
