Three tribes canceled concerts by Crosby, Stills & Nash due to David Crosby's recent Congressional testimony on the land-into-trust process, The New London Day reports.
Crosby appeared at a May 18 Senate Indian Affairs Committee hearing. He blasted the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians and the tribe's attempt to acquire trust lands. He worked with anti-Indian activist Jeff Benedict to oppose the tribe's expansion [Senate testimony].
Crosby said he doesn't like playing tribal casinos although he recently played the Mohegan Tribe's arena in Connecticut and the Oneida Nation's arena in New York. Oneida Nation leader Keller George said he would have not allowed the group to play but that the issue was never presented to council.
