Oneida Nation cracks top 10 list of state lobbyists

The Oneida Nation of New York spent more than $2.6 million on lobbying in 2004, The Syracuse Post-Standard reports.

The Oneidas spent the majority of the money, $2.4 million, on an ad campaign blasting land claim settlements with out-of-state tribes. The rest went to a lobbying firm, which made contributions to state politicians.

The expenditures put the tribe in the top 10 list of lobbyists in the state.
