The Oneida Nation of New York will voice its opposition to Gov. George Pataki's land claim settlements at a public hearing on Friday.

The tribe criticizes Pataki, a Republican, for making deals with out-of-state tribes, like the Oneidas of Wisconsin. Tribal representative Ray Halbritter says Pataki is motivated by greed.

Pataki agreed to allow two Wisconsin tribes and one Oklahoma tribe to open casinos in the Catskills in exchange for dropping land claims. The Oneida Nation says the deal can't be approved without its consent.
