Another Michigan tribe joins fight against judge pick

Nearly every Michigan tribe has joined the campaign against one of President Bush's judicial nominees.

The Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians signed a letter in opposition to Robert Jonker. The tribe joins six others in calling for the attorney to be defeated for a judgeship in the Western District of Michigan.

The tribes say Jonker's representation of anti-gaming groups raises questions about his bias. He says he was only serving his clients and that has recused himself as a member of 23 is Enough, one of the anti-gaming groups that has been accused of disseminating "anti-Native" information.
