The family of slain American Indian Movement activist Anna Mae Pictou Aquash is confident her killers will be brought to justice, daughter Denise Maloney Pictou says.

Aquash was murdered in 1976 on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. It took 30 years before two men were indicted for her death.

One man, Arlo Looking Cloud, was found guilty in February 2004. He appealed his conviction but was rejected by the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.

The second man, John Graham, awaits a trial. He is currently fighting extradition from Canada, where he lives.
