"U.S. Rep. Bob Ney, R-Ohio, has denied being involved in any wrongdoing through his links to a scandal involving a corrupt lobbyist and an ex-aide to Ney. But Ney still has not provided suitable explanations of why he was involved with the two � and a Texas Indian tribe � in the first place.

Ney is under investigation by the Justice Department because of his ties to a lobbying scandal. Lobbyist Jack Abramoff and ex-Ney aide Neil Volz already have pleaded guilty to public corruption charges. Despite having enjoyed a trip to Scotland with expenses paid by Abramoff, Ney continues to deny that he was involved in using his office improperly.

But Ney also told congressional investigators in 2004 that he didn�t remember ever meeting with representatives of the Tigua Indian tribe of Texas. The tribe has released a photograph showing two of its officials meeting with Ney in 2002 � a gathering later confirmed by Ney�s staff."
