A group of about 80 people, including Indians and non-Indians, held a protest on Saturday against the University of South Dakota's "Fighting Sioux" nickname and logo.
Indian students, faculty and Sioux tribes oppose the use of the name and logo. They say it perpetuates negative stereotypes about Indian people and has a negative impact on Indian people.
The NCAA has asked UND review the name and logo. Most non-Indian students and alumni don't want to see "Fighting Sioux" eliminated.
