Nathan W. Teske: "Look around, folks: It isn't a secret that Professor Sherry O'Donnell, myself and others who are in favor of retiring the "Fighting Sioux" nickname, logo and associated traditions and imagery are an ideological minority in these cities. . ."

Scott Murphy: "It amazes, but doesn't necessarily surprise, me that those who oppose the UND nickname continue to benefit from the university and its use of the nickname. All the while, they also render services to the university and to those who support the nickname. I suppose this really amounts to a tacit acceptance of the nickname when you fully dissect the issue. . ."
