Rep. Tom Cole (R-Oklahoma), the only Native American in Congress, recused himself on Wednesday from any ethics probe into embattled House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas).
Cole sits on the House ethics committee that would investigate DeLay should a complaint arise. But since he accepted money from DeLay's political action committee and donated money to DeLay's legal defense fund, he decided to step aside.
Cole is a member of the Chickasaw Nation.
