A recent fire destroyed homes and land on 14 reservations in southern California but not the resolve of tribal members.

In the aftermath of the Paradise Fire, tribes opened their doors and pocketbooks to those hit. The Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians housed more than 700 people who were forced to leave their reservations. Other tribes donated millions to help those displaced.

The San Pasqual Tribe has been busy rebuilding the community. The tribe has held special luncheons for tribal elders. The reservation lost 78 homes and more than 100 cars and trucks to the fire.
