Native hoops highlights
The Fort Yukon Lady Eagles in Alaska capped off a winning streak to capture the first state championship in the school’s history. Their coach said it’s like “winning the Super Bowl.”
Over in New Mexico, the Navajo Prep boys basketball team, also the Eagles, won their first state championship, joined by a championship win by the school’s girls team.
It’s basketball tournament time and Native America Calling is talking free throws, three-pointers, and trophies.
🦅What a day! Thank you Eagle family for coming together to celebrate our champions! Eagle Pride Athletics #statechamps…
