A member of the San Manuel
Band of Mission Indians of California will remain in jail after potentially violating the terms of her probation.
Stacy Cheyenne Barajas-Nunez, 26, was sentenced to home detention for pleading guilty to a murder-for-hire plot. She was arrested for trespassing after being found in the parking lot of her tribe's casino.
The San Bernardino County District
Attorney says Barajas-Nunez violated conditions of her sentence by going to the casino. She could end up serving 27 years in prison as a result.
Barajas-Nunez's lawyer says the incident does not qualify as trespassing because the entire tribal membership has to vote on the matter.
