The late Master Sgt. Woodrow Wilson Keeble, a member of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate, will receive the Theodore Roosevelt Rough Rider Award, North Dakota’s highest honor.
The award will be presented to Keeble's family this summer. It comes after President Bush posthumously bestowed the Medal of Honor on Keeble for his heroic actions in the Korean War.
Keeble also served in World War II and earned numerous military honors. He died in 1982 at the age of 65.
