Congress has reaffirmed its support to award a Medal of Honor to the late Woodrow W. Keeble, a member of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux Tribe.
Keeble served in World War II and the Korean War. He received the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, the Silver Star and the Distinguished Service Cross but never the Medal of Honor, the military's highest honor.
In 2007, Congress authorized the Defense Department to award the medal to Keeble. The 2008 Defense Authorization report again urged approval of the honor but President Bush has yet to act.
