New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson (D) on Thursday ordered the inspection of four bridges that are similar to the one that collapsed in Minneapolis, Minnesota
One of the bridges is on the Navajo Nation. The bridge is on U.S. 64 near Shiprock and was rated "structurally deficient" -- the same as the bridge that collapsed in Minnesota.
MSNBC has published a map of deficient or obsolete major bridges across the country. According to government statistics, a quarter of the 4,500 bridges in Indian Country are considered deficient.
