Cherokee Nation to share road funds with state


The Cherokee Nation is using its Indian Reservation Road money to help the state of Oklahoma rebuild and repair bridges.

The tribe is donating $4.7 million it received from the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The money will be used to fund construction on eight bridges in northeastern Oklahoma.

In the next few years, the tribe plans to spend $51 million on transportation projects.
