The Sisseton Wahpeton Sioux Tribe met with commissioners in Marshall County, South Dakota, to discuss a memo of understanding over Bureau of Indian Affairs roads.
The tribe has already entered into an agreement with the state covering 219 miles of roads. Day County also put 26 miles on the tribe's Indian Reservation Roads (IRR) inventory.
Marshall County officials have until March 15 to add their roads to the list. The move would open up tribal and federal funding for roads and bridges.
