Methamphetamine use in Montana appears to be declining but reservations are seeing more and more addicts, speakers at a meth conference said on Monday.
April Toineeta Flores, a former meth addict who is the coordinator for the Meth Free Crow Coalition, said meth remains a problem on reservations. She cited efforts by the Crow Tribe to toughen some anti-drug laws.
Marilyn Rhodes, a counselor an addictions treatment center on the Blackfeet Reservation, said more patients are checking in with meth addictions. "In the whole of Montana, meth is declining," she said, The Billings Gazette reported. "But on reservations, it's climbing."
