Seminole Tribe rejects challenge s to election

The Seminole Tribe of Florida has rejected two challenges to its recent election but authorized a recount for one race.

The tribe's election board held an emergency meeting to consider the challenge from Moses Osceola, who lost by 100 votes to incumbent chairman Mitchell Cypress. Osceola questioned the vote count on the Hollywood Reservation but it was rejected.

The board also rejected a challenge to a losing candidate for president of the board of directors. But a recount was approved for the representative of the Brighton/Tampa Reservation. The race was decided by one vote.
