Former Seminole chairman Billie seeks old job

Jim Billie, the former chairman of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, wants his old job back.

Billie was removed by the tribal council in 2003 after 23 years as leader. He faced questions about his financial dealings but was never charged with any wrongdoing.

"In my heart, I'm still chief of the tribe. They stole it from me," he told The South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

The tribe is holding a May 14 election. Incumbent Mitchell Cypress is seeking re-election.
