The chairman of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians is recovering in the hospital after suffering a stroke, The Grand Forks Herald reports.
Ken W. Davis, 57, is being treated in Minot, North Dakota. His family asked the hospital not to release information on his condition to the media.
Davis is reported to be talking and in good spirits. He is running for re-election.
