Twila Martin Kekahbah, the former chairwoman of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians, was convicted by a federal jury on Thursday.
Kekahbah, 59, was indicted on charges of terrorizing and reckless endangerment. She threatened to shoot two men who had come to her home to repossess equipment belonging to her brother, federal authorities said.
The incident occurred last November and was not related to Kekahbah's former duties as chairwoman. She ran the tribe from 1988 to 1992 and from 1994 to 1996.
