Canadian police have issued arrest warrants for seven people accused of a string of incidents at a Native protest site in Caledonia, Ontario.
The suspects are accused of hijacking a U.S. Border Patrol vehicle, attempting to run over a Canadian police officer, harassing an elderly couple and assaulting a television crew. The incidents occurred within a short amount of time last Friday.
The seven are believed to have fled to the Six Nations Reserve. The Six Nations denounced the acts and tribal officials are working with law enforcement to track down the grou.
The Native protesters at the Caledonia site had also told the suspects to stay away. The protesters have been occupying a construction site since February 28, saying the land was stolen from the Six Nations.
