The Lower Brule Sioux Tribe in South Dakota is hosting the Gathering of The Sioux Nation this weekend.
The two-day event will focus on preservation issues in Indian Country. Sioux people are currently fighting a proposal to build a bar near sacred Bear Butte.
The gathering is being held at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel in Pierre.
