TUESDAY, MARCH 4, 2003 Four tribes are asking a federal judge to stop the Bush administration from using federal funds to build a shooting range in South Dakota. The Northern Cheyenne, Rosebud Sioux, Crow Creek Sioux and Yankton Sioux tribes, along with an Indian group called Defenders of the Black Hills, say the range will disturb ceremonies that take place near Bear Butte. Bear Butte is used by Plains tribes as a place of prayer, vision quest and worship. Get the Story:
