The White Earth Band of Ojibwe of Minnesota will break ground on a $14.5 million tribal council building in May 2007.
The building will serve as headquarters for all tribal government programs, including health services. The 80,000-square-foot, two-story building will be located in White Earth.
The tribe will finance construction with tax-exempt bonds. A $300,000 grant from the Department of Agriculture will be used for furniture, fixtures and equipment. The tribe will pay $400,000 for a road to the new building.
