The Native-inspired restaurant on the Gila River Reservation in Arizona has received the five-diamond rating from the AAA travel agency.
Kai is located at the Sheraton Wild Horse Resort & Spa. It is only one of four restaurants in Arizona to win the five-diamond rating.
The new chef de cuisine at Kai is Jack Strong, a member of the Siletz Tribe of Oregon. He stepped in after the departure of Sandy Garcia, who is from Santa Clara Pueblo in New Mexico.
In the first year of operation, Kai received four diamonds from AAA.
