California Assemblywoman Jackie Goldberg (D) is again pushing for a bill to ban the use of "Redskins" by public schools.
Goldberg says the use of the name is racist. It would affect five high schools with "Redskins" mascots and logos.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) vetoed the bill last year, saying the local community should decide whether the name is appropriate. Tulare Principal Howard Berger said no one has complained about its "Redskins" mascot, which he said is an honor to Native people.
