"When the time comes at services this morning at All Indian Nations Church in south Minneapolis, the congregation will reach deep down and sing, 'Jesus Christ Has Risen Today!'

It is, after all, Easter Sunday. The traditional hymn represents what is supposed to be the most joyous day of the Christian year.

But this Easter comes with so much sadness, especially at a location such as All Indian Nations Church, a Christian worship place for Ojibwe, Lakota, Ho Chunk, white and black.

How can there be joy on the 2300 block of Bloomington Avenue S. among people still stunned and grieving over the tragedy of six days ago on the Red Lake Reservation?"
