A public library on the Navajo Nation is in doubt due to the closure of the Boys & Girls Club in Shiprock, New Mexico.
The Farmington Public Library operated the branch library in Shiprock in conjunction with the non-profit that operates the club. But now that the club has been shut down, library officials don't know what will happen to the space because they don't have an agreement with the Shiprock Chapter or the Navajo Nation.
The 14 clubs have been closed due to a funding dispute between the non-profit Boys and Girls Club of Navajo Inc. and Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr.
