"I wasn't going to write about the economy again this week. I thought I would give it a rest. Then I read about what Congress is up to -- and was angry enough to pound my keyboard at about 120 words per minute.
Last week the House passed four -- count 'em, four -- bills to preserve tax cuts, adding a net $30 billion to the deficit.
"Our economic policies have done the trick," Rep. Deborah Pryce, R-Ohio, told The Washington Post. "We are in the middle of one of the strongest economies this country has ever seen."
Then this is the official line coming out of Washington these days.
The economy is great. Best we've ever seen. Why don't the news media report the really great state of the American economy?"
