A new task force in Saskatchewan will investigate 82 unsolved cases of missing people, half of whom are Native.
Saskatchewan Justice Minister Frank Quennell said funds will be provided to assign eight officers o the RCMP and police forces in Saskatoon in Regina, which have sizable Native populations.
Dozens of Native men and women, as well as teenage boys and girls and at least one young girl, have gone missing in recent decades. Native advocates have been calling for an investigation into the cases.
