A new group formed by disenrolled tribal members is proposing to amend the Indian Civil Rights Act of 1968, Jodi Rave reports.

The American Indian Rights and Resource Organization says the Tribal Justice Act will allow individual Indians to take tribes to federal court if the tribes don't comply with ICRA. It would waive tribal sovereign immunity in these instances.

The group plans to unveil the proposal in a couple of weeks, Jodi Rave reports. That would coincide with an October 28 rally in Ukiah, California.
