Yellow Bird: An excellent adventure in the country

"I'd never snowshoed, cross-country skied or seen the original bedrock of North America where no fossil forms exist. But those are some of the things I did (or almost did!) in Baudette, Minn., last week.

Jenny Moorman, a biologist turned tourism director and ecotourism entrepreneur, loves this northern Minnesota country so much that she proclaims and celebrates the beauty of the land.

Moorman and her executive assistant, RuBelle Towne, are the smiling faces of the Lake of the Woods tourism offices that sit to the left as you enter Baudette. They know this area -- the place where Rainy River reaches Lake of the Woods."
