Officials in Spokane County, Washington, are required to remain neutral on the Spokane Tribe off-reservation casino.
The county signed an intergovernmental agreement with the tribe to receive a share of revenues from the proposed casino in Airway Heights. But commissioners must remain silent even as opponents are calling for help in defeating the project.
The county has a similar agreement with the Kalispel Tribe. The tribe operates an off-reservation casino in Airway Heights.
