Chickasaw Nation enters bid for state-owned casino in Kansas

The Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma has entered the bidding for a state-owned casino in Kansas.

The tribe's Global Gaming Solutions is one of three bidders for the Sumner County casino. Plans call for a 260,000 square-foot facility with 1,300 electronic games, 40 blackjack tables, 20 poker tables, a 1,400-seat entertainment and events center, an 80-room hotel and space for six restaurants and bars.

The casino would be located not far from a site where the Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma owns land. The Obama administration is moving forward with the Wyandotte land-into-trust application.
