Reports commissioned by the state of Kansas say a commercial casino will be able to compete with the proposed Wyandotte Nation casino but only if it offers enough amenities.
The Chisholm Creek
Casino Resort won a license to operate a casino for the state. But the developers have scaled back the project out of concerns that its market will be hurt by the Wyandotte casino.
But a report by Raving Consulting Company says Chisholm Creek needs to add more amenities to compete with tribal facility. Two other reports say Chisholm Creek will see a drop in revenues if the tribe opens its casino.
The tribe is waiting for the Bureau of Indian Affairs to make a decision on its land-into-trust application. The gaming site is in Park City, near Wichita.
