The Tohono O'odham Nation of Arizona is hoping to end litigation over its proposed off-reservation casino.
The tribe wants to sit down with the city of Glendale and discuss the $550 million project. But don't look for a meeting any time soon, The Arizona Republic reports.
“It is apparent that the tribe recognizes that they are in the wrong and is clearly attempting to deflect the real issues,” a spokesperson for the city was quoted as saying.
The city and the Gila River Indian
Community sued the Bureau of Indian Affairs for approving the Tohono O'odham Nation's land-into-trust application. The BIA hasn't determined whether the land is eligible for gaming.
