Redding Rancheria upholds expulsion of family
Monday, January 19, 2004

The adult members of the Redding Rancheria of California voted Saturday night to uphold the expulsion of nine people.

The nine belong to the extended Foreman family. In an attempt to prove their ancestry, they exhumed two bodies and performed DNA testing. Both tests confirmed a near 100 percent link to a tribal ancestor.

The vote that was held Saturday was technically an appeal of the tribal council's decision to disenroll the nine people.
