The Redding Rancheria tribal council is threatening to kick a family out of the tribe.

The Foreman family has been asked to prove its descent from one of the original rancheria members. They exhumed the body of an ancestor and conducted DNA tests in an attempt to prove their legitimacy.

The tribe was going to put the issue to a vote of all members but will now decide on its own.

If the family is ousted, the $3,000 monthly per capita payments for the remaining tribal members could increase by $1,000. The tribe operates a casino.
