Relatives vote to keep Kickapoo chairman in office
Friday, December 19, 2003

The Kickapoo Tribe's election board voted 2-1 on Thursday to keep chairman Tony Salazar in office. The two who voted for Salazar are his nephews, The Daily Oklahoman reported.

Salazar was ousted by a 168-150 vote on Saturday. But the election board failed to certify the election, anticipating a challenge. Salazar remained in office the whole time.
