The chairman of the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma was voted out of office on Saturday by tribal members.

Voters recalled Tony Salazar by a vote of 168 to 150, according to unofficial results. Tribal members accused him of a conflict of interest, because he serves as chairman and as executive director of the tribe.

Salazar had won election to the post by 18 votes, a tribal member said.
