The South Florida Water Management District plans to file a Supreme Court brief today in a case brought by the Miccosukee Tribe and environmentalists.

The district pumps polluted water into the Everglades. But it says it doesn't need a federal Clean Water Act permit to do so because they aren't generating pollution, just transporting it.

The tribe and Friends of the Everglades say the district has to apply for a federal permit. The tribe has won two court decisions in its favor until the Supreme Court agreed to hear the case.
