With Donald Trump about to take office, Republicans in the U.S. Senate have been busy scheduling confirmation hearings for the president-elect’s nominees.

So far, eight Senate committee have scheduled hearings for Trump’s cabinet picks. The hearings are taking place next Tuesday and next Wednesday, a week before the president-elect will be sworn into office.

“This past November the American people gave President Trump and Republicans a mandate, and now the time has come to begin executing on it,” Sen. John Thune (R-South Dakota), the new Majority Leader of the Senate, said on Wednesday.

“We have a lot of work to do, but the American people have chosen the right team to get it done,” Thune said, adding later that Republican-led Senate committees “will work to ensure each nominee has a fair process without unnecessary delays or obstruction.”

Among those getting a hearing next week is Doug Burgum, a former governor of North Dakota who is being tapped to lead the Department of the Interior, the federal agency with the most trust and treaty responsibilities in Indian Country. His nomination has been well received by tribal leaders in his home state.

Burgum is scheduled to go before the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources on Tuesday morning. The panel is led by Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah).

Also receiving a hearing is Kristi Noem, the governor of South Dakota who has been selected to run the Department of Homeland Security. She does not enjoy strong relations with tribes in her state, all of whom have banned her from entering their reservation due to unfounded comments she has made about drug trafficking and crime in Indian Country.

Norm is set to appear before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs on Wednesday morning. The panel is led by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky).

Trump will be sworn into office at Noon Eastern on January 20. Assuming the Senate follows Thune’s pledge, half or more of the president-elect’s cabinet could be ready to serve at around the same time.
