Members of the Navajo Nation, the largest tribe in the U.S., go to the polls on August 3 to narrow the field for the presidency.
Twelve candidates -- 10 men and two women -- are running for office. The top two vote-getters will face off in the November 2 general election.
The candidates are: Anthony Begay, 38; Donald Benally, 59; Sharon Clahchischilliage, 62; George Herrera, a write-in; Rex Lee Jim, 47; Lynda Lovejoy; Arbin Mitchell, 51; Daniel Peaches, 69; incumbent vice president Ben Shelly, 63; Jerry Todacheenie; D. Harrison Tsosie, 48; and Dale Tsosie.
