Ben Nuvamsa is officially back on the job as chairman of the Hopi Tribe of Arizona.
Nuvamsa took the tribal council to court after council members ousted him. They claimed that he didn't meet the residency requirements to hold public office.
But in a ruling issued on Monday, the tribe's appellate court said the council acted unlawfully by nullifying
Nuvamsa's election.
Nuvamsa was in office less than a month when he was removed. He came back to work on a temporary basis pending a ruling from the tribal court.
