A bill to add more sites to the Trail of Tears National Historic Trail awaits President Bush's signature.
The bill authorizes a National Park Service study. It would add routes taken by the Cherokees as they were forced from their homelands to Oklahoma.
Congress created the trail in 1987. It crosses Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Tennessee.
